Ombré Brows: FAQs

What are Ombré Powder Brows?

Ombré Powder is a semi permanent tattoo done by using a handheld machine & pigment to create the appearance of a powder like finish. In this process, I create tiny superficial dots on the epidermis layer of the skin that mimic powder filled brows. This is done in a Ombre manner, starting light at the front of the brows and goes dark towards the tail of the brows for a more dimensional brow finish.

Are Ombré Powder Brows Safe?

Yes, it is safe as long as the guidelines are met. Please read over the eligibility section to see if you are a safe candidate for the procedure. If you are not, you must get a Doctor’s note to be able to proceed with the procedure. I take my clients safety very seriously.
I am compliant with all the forms and procedures. My tools are sterile & for one time use only, they are disposed of safely after each client . I use new tools on each client for safety precautionary purposes. My working space is sterilized, and wiped down by medical grade products after each client. I am dedicated to ensuring every clients safety.

Do Ombré Powder Eyebrows Hurt?

Procedure is relatively pain free for the Ombre powder brows but can go up to moderate for pain for some. Some, feel a little bit of discomfort & some have gone through the process without the numbing cream with ease. If you prefer not to take a chance, I offer numbing cream to ALL CLIENTS!

Do I get to see what the Ombré Powder Brows will look life before the procedure?

Yes, definitely! I want to make sure you are able to get a good idea of what it will look like. I will measure & map out your eyebrows, & check in with you before proceeding. If you would like changes made before we start, I am happy to do it!

What do I need to bring for my Ombré Powder Brow Appointment?

You are only required to bring a photo ID.
Some things recommended for your appointment;
1.     Headphones, if you would like to listen to music during your procedure.
2.     Snacks, in case you feel hungry and want a 5 minute break.
3.     Earplugs, if you would like to sleep/rest. Yes, some people fall asleep.
4.     Sweater/Jacket in case you feel cold. Air conditioner in the procedure room must stay on.
You do need to prep before your appointment. Please follow the pre-care instructions in the “INFO” tab. The pre-care is there for the best and smoothest results. By not following directions, you are risking blotchy healed brows, scarring, poor ink intake, bleeding, …etc
Please note, no other person may enter the procedure room. It will only be you and myself.

How long does the appointment take?

Ombré powder brows can take up to 4 hours although it may vary person to person. This includes filling out paper work, numbing process, mapping the eyebrows to choose a shape and size, & tattoo procedure.

How often do I need a touch up?

Usually every 1-3 years for the Ombré Powder, this will depend on many factors such as your skin type/ skin routine/ environmental factors..etc.

Can you cover up old microblading or eyebrow tattoos?

Depends, most tattoos yes. Some of the traditional tattoos are more difficult to work with. They are deeply layered verses the softer approach used today. Most of the time, the traditional tattoos require tattoo removal & a resting period for the skin before being able to be worked on again. However, you can send me a picture of your eyebrows & I can tell you what can and cannot be done. In some cases, clients get it completely removed before coming to me, which is also another option available.

Is one visit enough?

I recommend 2 sessions for new clients who have never done any permanent makeup procedure to their eyebrows. The touch up session is $50.00 when completed 1-3 months after the initial service. After that, it depends on how long your skin can retain the tattoo. It can take another 1 year to 3 years for you to come back for a touch up.

I just got my eyebrows done, will they stay this dark?!

No, definitely not. The process and ink used is meant to look dark initially. The results fade into a much softer finish. Fading is about 30-50%. I recommend you to check healed results on my Instagram page, that is going to be your final result.
There are artists out there who’s initial results are lighter, however they come out very soft and fade a lot faster overtime. If this is the result you want, please keep in mind you would have to come back once a year to keep up those results.

How long until my newly done brows heal?

It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal. It takes about a month for the color to fully set in. So final results will be seen at 4-6 weeks!

My Brows did not seem to take in the ink, I just finished the 7-14 days of healing process. Is this normal?

Yes, this is normal. Right after the 7-14 day healing process it will appear lighter then the final results. You must wait a full month for the final results to take in.

Do I have to follow everything on the Pre-Care & After- Care List?

I can’t make you follow the list, but that list is there for you to have the best possible outcome for your brows. By not following directions, you are risking blotchy healed brows, scarring, poor ink intake, bleeding, etc

Why are my newly done Ombré brows cracking & peeling?!

This happens during the healing process. Your skin is renewing itself, a process of healing the area. A reminder! Please DO NOT try to peel off any of the scabs. Allow the brows, to heal themselves to prevent a blotchy and uneven outcome.

How do I decide on a color for my Eyebrow Cosmetic Tattoo?

I take your natural eyebrow hair, complexion, eye color & hair color into consideration prior to recommendation. I also suggest you to bring your usual brow shade that you use to the appointment.

How do I decide on a shape for my Eyebrow Cosmetic Tattoo?

Usually I try to stick to your natural flow of eyebrows with minor tweaks as this will give the most natural result. But in saying that a reshape maybe required, what I can do is have you draw in your usual shape on one eyebrow & I will draw an ideal shape recommended on the other brow. This way you can see the difference & decide. When recommending I take skin, face and feature shape into consideration.

What will I look like immediately after Ombré Cosmetic Tattoo?

Eyebrows will immediately look more prominent, darker & more defined with a little bit of swelling & redness. Swelling & redness will subside within a few hours post tattooing. The color will appear darker and stronger than the desired result; this will adjust over the healing time with up to 40% pigment loss experienced within the first 6 weeks.

When can I go back to work and how long will it take to heal?

Most clients return to work the very next day, still managing to keep their eyebrow tattoo discreet! Eyebrow tattoos usually start to heal pretty quickly without any complications (within four days), they will completely heal within 6 weeks. It is important to stick to the aftercare instructions to ensure rapid healing.
